I keep receiving calls from scammers asking me to call them back at a bogus government telephone number that appears to have been spoofed. The callers claim they are from the Compliance verification division with the Tax Filing Mediation Center, which is not true, asking me to contact them, but I am no fool. This is one of the many scams I have received since the start of the tax season.
