Latham And Watkins Scam Messages

Impersonators have created emails, instant messages, text messages, and presence on social media, falsely claiming to be from personnel at Latham & Watkins. These emails and messages are financial scams or phishing scams and have taken several forms. The scams may claim you have an unpaid and allegedly overdue invoice, with the target of the fraud asked to immediately remit payment. They may also mention an unclaimed inheritance for the recipient, with the target of the fraud asked to advance fees.

Here are some more forms of the scam:

  • Details about a financial settlement, with the target of the fraud asked to prepare a marriage license
  • Details about a tax liability, with the target of the fraud asked to make payment or face litigation
  • Details about work-from-home and other employment opportunities, including a request to interview using online chat or text messaging
  • Offers to help people recover money and cryptocurrency that was lost in online scams
  • Links to fake webpages, designed to steal usernames and passwords
