I just alerting everyone about the social security scam email I just received this morning. Do not click on any links or go to the site it recommends to view your statement. You probably are getting tired of hearing it, but scammers really are everywhere. Around this time of year, a big scam that pops up is the Social Security scam. This is usually an "alert" style of email or message that requires you to login and enter SSN details and other information.
Social Security will likely send a message via their website (if you have signed up for notifications in that way) and will ALWAYS update you on payment, billing, overpayment, and legal issues via US Mail.
The Social Security Scam Email

Remember, there are a few simple ways to recognize scammers. What do scammers do that might set them apart from actual organizations, businesses and people you trust?
- PRETEND to be from an agency or organization you know
- Say there’s a PROBLEM or promise a prize
- PRESSURE you to act immediately
- Tell you to PAY in a specific way
Stay safe, stay vigilant and, most important, stay updated with First Choice - because we want to keep you safe in 2025!
