This is because the link goes to a fake Facebook website that asks visitors to sign in. If they attempt to sign in, their Facebook account credentials will be sent to cybercriminals, who will use it to hijack or spam their friends with links to the same scam.

The link may also take potential victims to spam or phishing websites. The spam websites may trick you into completing fake surveys that will use your information to scam you or take you to bogus shopping websites that trick you into purchasing unwanted products or services.

If you were tricked into by the "Can't Believe He's Gone," please change your Facebook password. And, if your Facebook account has been hijacked or hacked, click here to recover it.
