Venmo Scam Text, Call, PIN Code and Press 1

Scammers are calling potential victims from 855 or 833 telephone numbers using fake Venmo automated calls, claiming an unknown device had attempted to access their Venmo accounts or if they recognize a recent Venmo debit from their accounts. The calls ask potential victims to press 1 and tell them a PIN code will be texted to them, which they should enter. But, if the PIN code is entered or given to the scammers, they will gain access to and take over their potential victims' Venmo accounts. The scammers will then be able to fraudulently transfer money from the compromised accounts to their accounts.
