It is a scam making the rounds that involves an automated call from a spoofed phone number indicating that your Amazon account has been charged for an Apple MacBook and that you should "press 1" to speak to a representative. But, these calls are not originating from Amazon. Amazon Macbook Scam Call TranscriptFrom: +1 (725) 202-8812"payment of $1499 for the recent order of MacBook Pro on your Amazon account if you do not authorize this payment please press one to speak to our customer support representative..."I did not press one. I called my credit card company and asked if someone had made a $1499. charge from Amazon or any other charge in the amount of $1499. The credit card representative said "no" and she said it was a scam and I should report it to our local authorities. She also said I should it report it to Amazon.Scams of this nature are very easy to take advantage of us and we are embarrassed if we fall for them.
