Amazon Macbook Scam Call Payment and Press One

Beware of Amazon Macbook scam calls! "payment of $1499 for the recent order of MacBook Pro on your Amazon account if you do not authorize this payment please press one to speak to our customer support representative..."

I did not press one. I called my credit card company and asked if someone had made a $1499. charge from Amazon or any other charge in the amount of $1499. The credit card representative said "no" and she said it was a scam and I should report it to our local authorities. She also said I should it report it to Amazon.

Scams of this nature are very easy to take advantage of us and we are embarrassed if we fall for them. I hope this post saves someone from these criminals.

I just got a recorded call claiming to be Amazon telling me my card had been charged over 2000 for a MacBook. Little do they know is I have no credit and certainly no card with that kind of limit and Amazon only has my debit card number and I’m broke so the call is a lie. I’m sure just another scam. But if a MacBook shows up I don’t know anything about it.

Today I got a scam call saying someone purchased a macbook on my Amazon for $1499.

First, I did not answer the call, just got a transcribed VM. Reported as a scam/spam call to my carrier.

Second, Amazon would email me any order confirmation.

People wonder why nobody answers the phone anymore.
