Online scammers are sending Truist Alerts scam text messages like the one below. The scam texts ask recipients if they have attempted a purchase and ask them to respond with "Yes" or "No". If recipients respond to the fraudulent text messages, they will be contacted by scammers who will pretend to be Truist representatives. Your caller ID will show the callers' telephone numbers as "Truist," which will make the scam more convincing. This is why you should never trust your Caller ID because it is very easy to spoof telephone numbers using today's technology.
