Netflix Scam Text Message - Please Update Your Membership

The Netflix text scam below, which claims the recipients should update their membership with Netflix to continue watching, is being sent by scammers. Therefore, recipients are asked not to click the link in it. If you want to know if there are some actions that need to be taken on your Netflix account, always go directly to netflix.com and sign in to your account. After signing in, you will be notified if there is anything that needs to be done.

Got a fake Netflix message on Netflix hxxps://myservice-netflix.com/?pwd=caNETFLIX :

Access to your netflix has been limited.

hxxps://myservice-netflix.com/?pwd=ca some guy sent me that message on messaging today hoping I would click on it so he can steal my personal info I did not click on it I know it was a scam.

"Netflix: Your payment was declined. You can update your info here: https://bit.ly3p0TCem If we were unable to charge your payment method, we will cancel the service. Send STOP to opt-out."

Watch out for poor grammar and suspicious URLs. Companies like Netflix only send out perfect messages that have been triple checked by language experts. This message uses "info" where a real message would have the full word and it also uses the wrong tense with "were" where it should say "are". Keep in mind that big companies have a legal obligation to give you fair time to communicate before they can cancel your contract for non-payment.
