Thousands of people across Thailand have been victims of a dodgy online money-making app concocted by the "SPM Shopping Mall" located at different websites(see below), one of the most popular is, shopping.baironghj.com. This sham lures innocent online victims to transfer/deposit a certain amount of money into the culprit’s multiple Thai bank accounts promising them a 3-fold profit within 10 - 14 days.
How the SPM Shopping Mall Scam Works
Victims from Bangkok, Phuket, Hua Hin including countries like Philippines and Singapore have already experienced their income has been frozen and the transfer of funds did not went through as promised. And when the victims contacted some of the ‘admin’ in their LINE chat group for explanations, there was no reply.
It was believed that hundreds of million baht was involved in the scam. Multiple complaints have already been filed to the police in some provinces.
Meanwhile, those in Hua Hin or nearby areas who have been victimized by the sham and wishes to file a complaint, please contact 080 113 9651 so we can collectively meet at the Hua Hin Police Station between 6:00 – 7:00pm today. Kindly bring along your proof of transfer of funds.
