Today, I received my Nettec Boost product after waiting a couple of weeks. Shipping was slow but can handle that if the product works effectively. I activated the extender and plugged it into the side of my house where I was having trouble with my WiFi. I ran an internet speed test standing in the exact same location on the current WiFi and then when connected to the extender, and I got the following slow speed:
- Current WiFi: 265 Mbps download
- Nettec Boost Extender: 16.9 Mbps download
Only 6% of the speed I was already getting in this room. I know the question would be, why do you need an extender? I have other devices that aren't receiving those levels of speeds currently, but I used my phone for an easily controlled test between the two.
I call their customer service and was told that it is meant to extend your WiFi, not boost your speed - totally agree, but when I asked why it was only 6% I got no response. Now, I am in the process of requesting a return. I will update my answer.
