Apple ID Locked Scam Email - What to Do?

If you have received an email purporting to be from Apple claiming your account is locked, please do not click on the link in the same email. This is because scammers are sending out fake or phishing emails like the one below with links to fake Apple websites that steal account credentials.

If you want to check if your Apple ID is locked or not, go directly to https://appleid.apple.com. If your ID was locked for security reasons you wouldn't get an email about it, you would find out when you tried to log in and would then have to contact Support.
