Companies like Microsoft and Apple will not call and offer to fix your computer remotely. And, allowing people to take control of your computer is a very foolish idea. These people will search the files on your computer for your personal information and install malicious programs on your computer, which they will use to scam you. They may even use your computer to commit other cybercrimes, which will then be traced back to you.

"Just received a call from 262-261-4103 saying I was going to be charged for something to do with Microsoft Windows. Asked me to call back. I called and a person on phone asked me to type “SUPREMOFREE.COM” into the address bar. Told him I had a Mac. He hung up. Can you find these scammers?" Received via email.
