Scamming - Fraud
For the past few months, I have received a few scam calls from 844 area code telephone numbers. Most of the area code 844 scam calls were technical support and banking scams. The scammers' aims were to trick me into giving them remote access to my computer or trick me into calling a fake banking number where I will be asked for banking credentials and other sensitive information.

If you were tricked into giving remote access to your computer, please disconnect your computer from the internet and ask a tech-savvy person to scan your computer for malware or spyware. And, if you were tricked into calling a fake banking telephone number and have disclosed your banking information, report it to your bank.

It seems as if 8442397398 (844-239-7398) is being used by scammers.
'844-396-9003: This is a scam to elicit personal information and money, claiming to work for the state, threatening you will lose all your rights if you do not give them your information. Threatening to come to your home or place of employment.' Received via email.
I got the same message in a voicemail from 844-500-5631
"I got a text today saying my service would be suspended in one hour. Phone number to call was 1-800-844-8292." Received via email.
