"The Internal Revenue Service Living Adjustments" Scam
Online users who have received the fake IRS email are asked not to follow the instructions in it. The telephone number 1-800-092-9714, which the recipients are asked to contact, is not an IRS phone number. Below is a list of legitimate IRS telephone numbers that should only be used to contact the IRS. The number have been taken from the the IRS's website at www.irs.com.
