Facebook users who have received messages like the one below, which claim their Facebook accounts must be confirmed in order to avoid disabling them is a phishing scam. The phishing messages are being sent by cyber criminals to steal Facebook usernames and passwords by taking Facebook users to a fake Facebook website where they will be asked sign-in. But, any attempt to sign into the fake website will result in their Facebook account usernames and passwords being sent to the cybercriminals. Once the cybercriminals have gotten their potential victims' account credentials, they will hijack their accounts and use them fraudulently.
