Facebook users are being warned NOT to join, share or invite their friends to the "SLIDE 'N' FLY" water events pages, because the events are scams, and Facebook users run the risk of, scammers collecting and using their publicly available Facebook information in other scams, or being placed on spamming lists.

The Facebook posts or pages advertising the events, claim the events are free, there will be exhilarating water rides, and it will be held this summer, August 29, 2015 across the United Kingdom. It also claims that Facebook users can support the events by joining, sharing and inviting their friends. But, like thousands of other Facebook Like-Farming or Information-mining scams that we have seen, the water ride events are similar scams that collect Facebook users' publicly available information for scammers.
Once scammers have gotten a hold of the information, they will use it to make their scams more convincing to their potential victims, by referring to them by their names and providing them with information that they think only people that they know, would know. So, Facebook users should be careful of what they like, share and comment on.
Local authorities said they have not granted permission or issued any event site licence for “SLIDE 'N' FLY” events taking place on August 29, 2015 in any of the city’s public spaces or parks. But, the "SLIDE 'N' FLY" page says the events will take place on the same day in almost every city and town in the United Kingdom.
Here are a few of the locations:
London, Glasgow, Loughborough, Dundee, Liverpool, Aberdeen,Plymouth, Newcastle, Sheffield, Nottingham, Dublin, Canterbury, Manchester, Edinburgh, Coventry, Bournemouth and Bournemouth.
Also, the slide pictured in the posts, has outraged the owner, who heard that his water slide his being used to promote a Facebook scam.
